Den 17 oktober utannonseras vilka som vunnit den prestigefulla naturfototävlingen Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2017. Redan nu kan vi bjuda på några av finalisterna. En av dem är svensk (första bilden).

– Det här är ju helt otroligt. säger Mats Andersson, som tagit bilden på ekorren. Bilden som jag har chans att vinna med i år, eller som sämst få en delad 2:a plats i WPY – VM i naturfoto, är fotograferad bara några meter från platsen där jag tog förra årets vinnarbild Moonlight Requiem. Båda bilderna förmedlar också lite samma känsla – vemod. Min bild “The Prayer (Winter pause)” föreställer en ekorre som sitter och blundar och har ”händerna” knäppta.
